Welcome Kayslee Collins To The Buzznet Family!
I am so excited to be an official Buzzmaker! This is my first post, and I thought I'd use it as an opportunity to introduce who I am, and what I do. Thanks for hanging out with me - I hope you find a reason to stick around :)

First and foremost, I'm a 21 year-old Singer/ Songwriter from San Diego, CA and I'm always writing! I like bubble baths, yoga, the beach and blogging ;) I first started modeling and acting when I was 10 years old. By the time I was 14, I had appeared in over 30 commercials and modeled for a variety of pre-teen/teen brands. I got to meet a lot of really great people and visit a lot of cool places very young. It was a lot of work, but I feel very lucky to have had that experience early on.
When I got to high school I turned my focus to music, which had always been my true passion. I spent four years in recording studios, driving back and forth from San Diego to LA. I got really close to signing a record contract with a major label, but like so many had experienced before me, the deal fell through and I was left feeling disappointed, confused and unsure about my future as a singer. I ultimately decided to give music a break for a little while. I packed up my things and moved to LA for good, to continue my modeling & acting. However, like so many young women on their own for the first time, I got a little caught up. I was still working, but my social life had become a distraction from what I was really there to accomplish. I was eager to make a name for myself, but it seemed like people cared more about who I was spending my time with, rather than what I was doing on my own. I went through some tough times - public criticism and some painful relationships. Eventually I decided to move back home and refocus. I went on a two year hiatus to find myself, and what it was I wanted out of my life. I started writing again and it became very clear. Music is what I want. It had always been what I wanted.

I took that time to grow and mature, both personally and professionally. I spent years in my bedroom creating a vision for myself. I knew I wanted to make music, but was hesitant to get back into the entertainment industry - It's a tough business, for sure. I almost walked away from it forever, but that all changed in November of last year.
I took a job on a random afternoon that I had been referred to by a friend. It was there, on the job, that I met my manager. We instantly hit it off, spending hours talking about my goals and the direction I wanted my life to go. I left that day feeling re-inspired - one of those meant-to-be moments. I signed an independent record contract with LuxeGlobal Records about a month later and was in the studio recording my first EP shortly after that. I could not believe it! I was back in a recording studio, singing MY songs, for the first time in years. It was a true blessing.

We released my EP, Girls Night In in July of 2012. It's girly, catchy, and fun. But most of all, it's ME. I moved back to LA and am currently modeling full-time and working on a new album. I've also had the opportunity to collaborate as a songwriter with other talented artists. It's my goal to be a great performer, but I also want to be respected as a songwriter. I'm working my butt off to get there!
I am a true believer in the idea that everything happens for a reason. It's been a long road so far, but I'm just getting warmed up! I'm so happy that Buzznet has given me the opportunity to share my journey with you, and I hope that I can inspire some of you as I have been inspired by so many in the past. I'm so excited about this coming year & can't wait to get some feedback on some of the things I've been working on. So stick around! It's going to be fun :)

I have kept a tumblr blog for the past year. If you want to get to know me a little bit more, here's the link -- http://kaysleemusic.tumblr.com/
